A real proud teacher moment

I always have a good lesson plan ready.

However, one of my private lesson students said,

"Today I want to talk about my school sports festival".

As it is a one-to-one lesson, I let her talk as much as she wanted.

I did not interrupt her when she made errors,

but I typed notes in the chat box.

I speculated what she wanted to say,

so I asked her some guided questions

which helped her form sentences.

I could not follow my lesson plan this time,

as she just continued talking for most of the lesson time.

And I think this was one of the best lessons.

A motivated student eager to speak in her second language,

learning to communicate,

practicing fluency,

reading my notes and correcting herself,

learning new vocabulary or phrases appropriate to how she wanted to express herself.

Her smile during the lesson was just so amazing.

She was glowing (and growing!!)

I am so proud of her progress that I had to share my happiness here.
